Biography

Priyanka Chopra is a well-known Indian film actress born on 18th July 1982, her nickname is Mimi and Sunshine and she is 5’8” in height. She was born to Capt. Dr. Ashko Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra. She began her education at La Martiniere Girls College in Lucknow, she was a resident student there. Her short stay at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly made her move to USA for further studies. She completed her 10th grade in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Priyanka chopra took a decision of becoming either a software engineer or a Criminal Psychologist. But she ended up being an actress in Bollywood.

She is the winner of Miss India and Miss World beauty pageants in the year 2000. She made her debut it a Tamil movie “Thamizhan” in 2002. She appeared in her first bollywood movie in 2003 and the name of the movie was The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. She appeared in Raj Kanwar’s “Andaaz” later that year, she won Filmfare award for best female debut. The movie was a huge success at the box office.

Her next set of films in the year 2004 were Kismat, Plan and Asambhav and all these movies were unsuccessful. At the end of 2004 Priyanka appeared in David Dhawan’s romantic comedy “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” with Samlan Khan and Akshay Kumar, this was a big commercial success and was at the top 3 position in that year. Next she appeared in Abbas Mustan’s thriller Aitraaz. This movie proved that she is good at doing negative roles as well. She received critical acclaim for her performance in this movie. She also won Filmfare Best villain award for this movie.

She played in Vishal Bharadwaj’s “Kaminey” in 2009 with Shahid Kapoor, which was again a commercial hit. Along with that she also appeared in Ashutosh Gowarikar’s “What’s your Rashee?”. We saw her in Jugal Hansaraj’s “Pyaar Impossible” in 2010, the movie failed at box office. She recently appeared in “Anjaana Anjaani” with Ranbir Kapoor and a multi starrer movie by Vishal Bharadwaj “Saat Khoon Maaf”, both the movies did not do well at the box office.
