Shah Rukh Khan, is an actor in Indian movies and an outstanding figure of Bollywood. He is also a television host and a film producer. He started off his career with several serials on television in 1980s. “Deewana” was his debut film in bollywood. He has done number of successful movies since then and he has also earned critical appreciation for his performances in many movies. Shahrukh khan is 14 times winner of Filmfare Awards for his contribution to Indian cinema. Eight out of fourteen awards are for best actor, which is a big record. He was also awarded by Padma Shri by the Indian Government for his contributions to Indian Cinema.

Shah Rukh was born to Muslim parents Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima on 2nd November 1965. Shah Rukh’s father was an activist in Indian.. independence. He says that his paternal grandfather was basically from Afghanistan and his mother was adopted daughter of his grandfather, his grandfather worked as a General in Subash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army. Shah Rukh’s father came to Delhi before the partition and the family of his mother came from Rawalpindi. Shahrukh has a sister who is elder to him and her name is Shehnaz.

Shah Rukh grew up in the neighborhood of Rajendra Nagar and he was a student of St. Columba’s School. He also won the Sword of Honor at the school for presenting best spirit of school. Later he completed his education at Hansraj College and earned his Bachelors degree in Economics. He completed is Masters Degree at Jama Millia Islamia in Mass Communications, but he chose Bollywood as his career.

Shah Rukh moved to Mumbai in 1991 after the death of his parents. He married a hindu girl Gauri Chibber in the same year, in a ceremony of Hindu traditions on 25th October. Now they have two children, son Aryan was born in 1997 and daughter Suhana was born in 2000. Shahrukh strongly believes in his God, but he also respects his wife’s religion at the same time, his children follow both religions.

Shah Rukh received his education under Barry John at Delhi’s Theatre. Barry Johan likes Shah Rukh very much and he says the credit of his success goes to the actor himself. Shah Rukh made his entry on television with this debut serial Fauji in 1988, he played the role of Commando in this serial. Thereafter he appeared in many tv serials like Circus by Aziz Mirza. He also performed in an Indian English movie, In Which Annie Gives it Those Ones, this film was made only for television written by Arundhati Roy.
